How do I contact Dean Kamen directly?
Unfortunately you cannot contact Dean directly. His schedule makes it
impossible for him to read or respond personally to all the
correspondence he receives. If you have a question, please send an email
to contactDEKA@dekaresearch and we will forward your message either to
him or the appropriate person here at DEKA. Bear in mind that we can't
make any promises regarding confidentiality of e-mail messages or
letters.

And to the point Ahne, I am willing to bet that out of that 5000 the
amount poiseoned by lead in solders is zero, today and every day. How do
I get hold of Dean?

I understand Dean Kamen is working on a low cost, simple piece of
equipment to make potable water out of any dirty water, which
potentially will reduce that 5000 number.
But without minimizing the problem, of that 5000, how many died of lead
poisoning? (Should/could/would we have put all the money spent on
leadfree somewhere else?)

Ahne.

Just to put things in perspective on an environmental front:

We are as an industry faced with huge sums of money (tens of billions of
dollars) to remove lead from solders for unresearched, documented or
proven human or environmental reasons to the point that the EU
commission now states that lead was removed from solder to "make
recycling easier".

Just remember though the REAL problems in the world. Nearly 20% of the
global population is living without safe water.

"Tragically for the 5,000 children who died yesterday from easily
preventable water-related diseases, it is already too late. 5,000 will
die today and everyday until governments around the world wake up to
this emergency," says Barbara Frost, WaterAid's CEO.

Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it?.
