Hi Gregg!
I've always understood that Sn60A was Sn60/Pb40 solder, Pb36B was
Sn62/Pb36/Ag2 solder, and of course Sn63A is Sn63/Pb37 solder...

Subject: [TN] Solder Designations
Dear Technetters:
I have had a student of mine ask a question which has stumped me, but
should (hopefully) be easy for our metallurgist folks out there.
J-STD-001 3.2 Solder refers to Sn60A, Pb36B and Sn63A. To what specific
solder alloy do these designations apply? I have looked at J-STD-005B to
attempt to find these specific designations (specifically the inclusion
of "A" or "B") but without success.
Any thoughts?
