Hi All!

We have a few customers that we build some PTH boards for. The
quantities have been mostly pretty low, and we usually buy loose axial
components because the quantities don't justify buying reels, then we
cut and hand form them, and drop them in the board by hand.

Well now the quantities are starting to increase a little, but not to
the point of buying reels yet. We would like to start auto-inserting the
boards but we are still stuck with having to deal with loose components.
Tape and reel houses charge anywhere from $40 - 50 per part number to
tape them, and if we were to try and pass this cost on to our customers
they would sh%t.

So I'm looking for a loose component axial tape and reel machine. The
only one I've found is one from a company called Hansa Tooling (
http://www.hansatooling.com/axial.html ). Not a bad looking machine, but
they want $8,500 for it. When I told my boss that, he just about sh%t.

So I'm wondering any of you know of any other machines that might be a
little cheaper?

TIA

-Steve Gregory-
