I would remind you that the first computerised Contaminometer was 
marketed as long ago as 1979. The most sophisticated computerised 
instrument was the CM-5, marketed from 1988 to 1994: it could operate in 
either "dynamic" or "static" modes, could extrapolate to asymptotic 
end-points from short tests, could determine the nature of the 
contaminants from the shape of the dissolution curve, do advanced 
statistical surveys on series of tests to determine changes in process 
parameters. Unfortunately, this very successful model was withdrawn from 
the market for partially unknown reasons, along with the MCM-2 for 
components and small assemblies, and not replaced. Today's CM-11/12 are 
barely a patch on the versatility of the earlier models.
