Well, that's one way of getting your message across: put your hands over
your ears and start speaking jibberish so you cannot entertain any
alternative information. This is so typical of the European governments -
they are so sure they're right, they won't listen to any counter-arguments
(unless you have a boat-load of money). I tried for the past 4 years to
explain why you can't measure hexavalent chromium in chromate coatings in
units of weight percent, and even though there is an International Standard
(ISO 3613) stating the correct units and both their enforcement authorities
and the IEC TC 111 WG3 group couldn't come up with a way to measure in
weight percent, they still will not admit that they got the units of
measurement wrong. They won't even bother to change the legislation - "it's
too hard" or "it takes too long" are the explanations I get. Must be great
to always know you're right and be able to ignore the facts when you're
wrong.
