Greg,

Thermalman is no longer an active company. Michael Jouppi who owned
Thermalman has taken a job with another company. His previous company
email was [log in to unmask] but I am not sure if this email still
works. I have a personal email but I am not sure if he wants me to give
that out - if you want I can see if he minds. Mike said that he had
spent thousands of his own money and it was time to get a job that pays
the bills. I also believe he is still in the Littleton Colorado area. He
may want to sell / support his software, just not sure as he and I have
not kept in touch for some time now.

As for the IPC-2152 specification, I am pretty sure this specification
is still unreleased. You can contact the IPC 1-10B Current Carrying
Capacity Task Group to get the status - I believe the Staff Liaison at
IPC is John Perry ([log in to unmask]).

Also, there is another software tool called Harvard Thermal (TASPCB). If
I am not mistaken, I believe that Mike worked with this company to help
create an analysis tool that evaluates copper planes, traces, vias and
thermals and the impact of applying current to them. It will analyze
copper features, including the swiss cheese effect of copper clearances
in planes. This tool, although MUCH more expensive, is the tool of
choice for power analysis of planes, traces, vias and thermals.

Subject: [DC] Thermalman?

To List,

Would anyone know what happened to "Thermalman" (www.thermalman.com) and
the status of IPC -2152?

TIA
