We use rubber stamps and Willard Marking (Marketing?) Devices #22 ink on
stone ink pads to mark PCBAs. There is some concern here about the odor
of that ink and the health hazards from using it so we are going to be
looking at alternates.

We assign our inspectors a number that is then added to each side of the
pcba as they finish inspecting it.  We have used a variety of methods to
add this number, stamps, permanent ink pens, labels, etc...  

Does anyone else mark boards in this fashion?  If so, what is being
used?  Our problem is that most methods tend to wash wash off, or get
rubbed off, after the cleaning process.  The labels we use work well but
are very time consuming because they need to be cut into smaller sizes
in most cases.

Any suggestions?
