Russ

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Although you are working with a large
CM it is also probably true that the boards are being assembled off shore,
Asia or Eastern Europe. My experience has been that in these regions,
reliable nitrogen suppliers are almost non existent especially when you get
into the interior. So it is to be expected that a nitrogen process is
unavailable.

Often if a customer insist upon nitrogen, the CM pulls the product back to
North America. Now you not only have the cost of nitrogen, but a much higher
labor cost. The final decision is usually made by management who know little
about quality or reliability, but a great deal about cost. The engineer is
told to suck it up and make it work just like the competition.

Remember the good old days when Bell Labs told Western to just do it and it
happened!

Best regards

Lee
