Hi Richard and Joe,

How about this for an idea? Make the money you pay to have your monitors
and other electronic trash disposed of tax deductible!! Reward the
people instead of punishing them.

I totally agree with you Joe. I wish I had the time to respond to the
article, so that people understand what the true nature of the problem
is, but alas, I have so little time that I cannot do so.

Many people do not dare leave the items outside the gates of the
collection agency, as they are monitored by video cameras (reliable
lead-bearing ones, I'm sure). The fine for illegal dumping is greater
than $1,000 if caught. The county agencies, sheriffs, police, and court
systems are very anxious to prosecute anyone caught, to provide the
public an example in order to discourage the illegal dumping. Thus all
of this stuff is dumped in the ditches along the highways, or in back
roads, or in parks at night, etc. I cannot even begin to describe what
the rivers look like under the highway bridges.
The stuff is being seen everywhere, even refrigerators, along the
highways and in the rivers.

To bring in a single monitor where I live, the fee is $40, just to give
you an idea of the problem.
