I cannot emphasize enough that the white paper that Werner has will do
more to assure quality pwbs than any audit procedure currently in print.
None of the audit procedures speak to the technical details that need to
be covered. Werner's paper does.

Every self-respecting pwb fab house should have a copy and follow the
guidelines listed.

There is IPC-1710, OEM Standard for Printed Board Manufacturer's
Qualification Profile, which provides an extensive qualification
questionnaire for qualifying potential PCB suppliers. However, many of
the necessary technical and procedural details are not given.
That is one of the reasons I developed a White Paper: "Recommendations
for PCB FAB Notes and Specifications in Printed Circuit Board Drawings
for SnPb and Lead-Free Soldering Assemblies, the Qualification of PCB
Shops and Activities to Assure Continued Quality," where both the steps
for the "Qualification of PCB Shops" and for the "Activities to Assure
Continued Quality" are listed.
