Yes, that is what we need to do, and
We found EXACTLY what we needed at Ironwood.

Thanks everyone for helping me out on that one...

Jack

There is a great deal of difference between an interposer and an
emulation socket. I believe Jack is looking for an interposer that his
experimental "daughterboard" is going to be soldered to, and the
interposer is then soldered to the pwb, onto the PLCC52 pattern already
present.=20

These types of interposers are typically used to accomodate a mismatch
in pinouts, or to try out a different circuit in place of a particular
component. For example, you can have a pad layout on the board for a
particular component in QFP package, but your stock or the only
available component packaging is a PLCC52 or dual SIP pattern. An
interposer "crossconnects" the pads on top to leads around the
interposer in the QFP pattern, so you can then use your PLCC52 part on
the circuit boards you have in stock that require a QFP part.
In Jack's case (I think) he wants to design a small daughterboard that
he can solder to an interposer that will in turn be soldered to the
PLCC52 pattern on the motherboard.
Nearly any small circuit board can be fabricated with the attachment to
match the component pad layout on a given circuit board, or motherboard.
Ironwood specializes in this, and they are very good at it.
