I am disgusted to hear that you were taken advantage of.  It is a complete
shame.  And the real kick in the a** is that if you were to hire an attorney
(justifiably), it would most likely cost you more to fight it than what you
would have been paid to begin with.  Perhaps you should request (at least
partial) payment up front to avoid being completely jilted in the future.  I
wish you the best.
