Question for all about the hexavalent chromium exemption for corrosion
resistance and EMI shielding for IT and Telecommunications equipment: I may
be wrong, but aren't there many products which require EMI shielding per FCC
and EU regulations falling outside the scope of Category 3 (IT and Telecon
equipment)? Are there not applications outside Category 3 where hexavalent
chromium coatings are used and are necessary to allow electrical contact for
EMI shielding and corrosion resistance? I think that exemption was lobbied
to too narrow a scope. For example, wouldn't a TV have to meet the same EMI
shielding requirements?
