Steve,

We use the generic version of that from Techni-tool, and their web site
doesn't have links that I can paste. When the wire wool gets worn out,
we go to the local supermarket for replacements from their kitchen
section, not the expensive replacements from the electronic supply
houses.

Subject: Re: [TN] Solder iron question

Speaking of Tip Tinners, I'm trying to discourage their use. I don't
think they're very good for solder tips over the long term, and may
actually lessen their useful life. Anybody else share my view?

What I've been buying for my operators to replace the little cans of tip
tinner is a Hakko 599B Tip Cleaner:

It's a bit more abrasive than a sponge and really cleans the tips well,
including the baked on flux residues that build-up on the tips. I've had
nothing but positive comments from my operators.
