I hope I can help you get started.  We maintain an interest group in  
embedded components -
Embedded Device Users Group (we used to just say passives).  The  members 
hold monthly phone conferences - usually the third Wednesday of the  month, 
unless there is a holiday/conflict. 
 
One of the things we report on is status of IPC Standards. Here is the  
committee chair and status from our October meeting notes (giving the respective

 1-hour time slots are reserved (if needed) for the four Subcommittees  (1st
