Ahhhhh, I see. You explained it so well Inge, but maybe a lot of people
didn't understand it. Well, fortunately for them, I have this video
posted on my web page of a catacitor that got charged with 600 VDC but
had nowhere to discharge. So it kicked back to the resistor which in
turn released the charged catacitor:
