Subject: [LF] REACH Webcast - 10/18 4pm EDT

Hi Folks. We'll be presenting a free webcast on October 18 on the new
and very important European Union legislation called REACH, or
Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of CHemicals.

While it's main target is safety and safe use of chemicals, it will
have impacts, in some cases directly, on product companies that sell
products in and in to the EU, or that have supply chains that extend
to the EU.

REACH is extraordinarily complex and we are honored to have as the
main presenter Robert Donkers, Counselor for Environmental Affairs at
the European Commission Delegation in Washington, DC and an author of
the original REACH legislation, and thus a recognized authority on REACH.

RoHS was merely a warm-up exercise for environmental regulation of the
electronics industry. While not targeted specifically at this
industry, but rather at all users of a wide variety of chemical
substances (30,000 or so), this is another step, and a profound one at
that, in the continuing regulation of the industry.

If we learned one thing with RoHS, it should be that dealing with
regulations like this reactively and without a plan is very expensive
and less than ideally effective. Plan to attend and learn what REACH
is about and how, and why, to start addressing it proactively today.

more and sign up.

ps - this will be archived to allow those of you acoss the various ponds to
attend as well since the timing is...uhhh... US-centric.
