All PFCs are hazardous to the temperature of the air we breathe. Along
with sulfur hexafluoride, they are the worst known greenhouse gases with
atmospheric lifetimes of about 10,000 years and being 5,000 to 20,000
times worse than CO2 for creating climate change.

If decomposition occurs, a whole host of very toxic nasties can be
produced. OTOH, undecomposed, it is non-toxic. You therefore have to
take care not to allow decomposition by using heaters with a very large
surface area to have even heat distribution, strict no smoking etc.
