PCB Libraries has a nice document based on ANSI Y32.2/IEEE Std. 315.

Hi Councillors,

I need to know whether there is any IPC or MIL or JEDEC or whatever
standard that sets nomenclature rules for PCB designs, like U is for
ICs, R for resistors, etc.
