I will try to keep my comments objective on this since in the main I am
right behind the work carried out by Green Peace.

What did this prove? They purchased them on the internet in March and as
they explain at length:

==============================================================
All five laptops were forwarded intact to the laboratories of
Eurofins Environmental A/S in Galten, Denmark. Eurofins
dismantled each laptop in turn, taking care to avoid
contamination of internal components, photographed successive
layers of casing, circuitry and other components and identified
on the photographs a range of materials and components as
possible subjects for chemical analysis.
===============================================================

The report just came out, and I am sure since the RoHS deadline was nearly 3
months back that those manufacturers are all compliant (one would hope) so
maybe the report should be called "what's not in your laptop"

The lab report shows a lack of scientific method, since they didn't make ANY
attempt to look at the date of manufacture of the laptops or record serial
numbers which would have been screamingly obvious from the circuit boards
and the unit itself.

GREENPEACE...........go and do it over again, find something that was
imported since July 1st, find some issues and take someone to court -
because it does not appear to me that anyone in Europe is doing any checking
- the courts would be at grid lock by now if they were serious about this
thing.

Seems to me all we have to do is convince Greenpeace that lead-free is an
eco-disaster and turn them loose on the EU legislators. Have some of their
eco-terrorists take care of the eco-idiots. Kinda the definition of poetic
justice.
