I just HAVE to tell a story from my 'former life', as someone TNetter said.
We were young and very innovative.At that time many of us used shoes with
half inch thick sort of raw rubber. Used high voltage supply, tuned to 25 kV
with some megs in series. Put finger on + until charged. Went out in
corridor and walked up to nearest room friend. Rised finger to his nose and
said "you got something on your nose" . SSSPITTTTCH!! A one centimeter blue
flash and the other guy jumped out of his pants. Then you had to run for
your life....

I haven't referenced them for quite some time, but the EOS/ESD
Association (esda dot org) used to have a lot of available, and helpful
publications. I'm not sure of the difference between the pricing for
non-members vs. members, but it may be a place to start.
