Now to a serious topic. I've seen, at a visit to a company, all ESD
markings, ESD coats, ESD floors, ESD label everywhere, ESD shoes etc. The
operator takes his ESD strap. Everything OK. And then he picks up 1.5 V
memory boards with white cotton gloves! Gloves with no sign of ESD
protection marking. When I told them, they just looked confused and went on
working.....

......and I've seen people follow all ESD instructions carefully, all the
way until last step which was an electrical function test. Then they put the
boards on a desk, a wooden desk with a thick layer of varnish on!

.....I've seen even more

No, that was "string theory".

Bob,
I haven't referenced them for quite some time, but the EOS/ESD
Association (esda dot org) used to have a lot of available, and
helpful publications. I'm not sure of the difference between the
pricing for non-members vs. members, but it may be a place to start.
Best of luck,
Dave

Hey everyone,

Happy Friday!

Can anyone point me to the best way to set up a shop floor for ESD
protection?

Thanks a bunch.
