Chris,
        You stated in your previous email that you are changing
suppliers for legacy products and that you were not sure if the current
supplier is meeting with your cleanness requirements. Have you sent out
the legacy products to a testing facility to insure that your current
supplier is meeting your requirements for cleanness or have the
capability in house? If not you may want to consider the investment. 
        Any time a new supplier mentions they want to make exceptions to
existing requirements for a legacy product I become very cautious. I am
sure there are more then enough individuals here that can share a horror
story or two about going to a new supplier for cost reductions, only to
find out that they are receiving less then what they are paying for and
paying twice as much in the end. (I am not saying this is what is
happening to you)
        It sounds like your company is going to move quite a bit of the
product to the new supplier. If you can, verify what your current
supplier is providing you and supply it to your new vendor. If the
report shows your old vendor meeting your requirements you may have
enough leverage to bring the new vendor around.
