Subject: Re: [TN] US Cleaning in IPA
Furthermore, I have some values about the cavitation vs. Liquids vs.
Temperature e.g. Below:
Liquid Formula Boiling Max cavitation
intensity Temperature at which
reaches intensity max for 46
MHz lambda/2
1. Water H2O 100 C 100%
35 C
2. Xylen C6H4 etc 137 C 61%
93 C
3. Ethanol C2H5OH 78 C 45%
21 C
4. Aceton (CH3)2CO 56 C 44%
minus 36 C
Etc
Can send whole table to interested, or for Steve's wall

40 MHz was the typical frequency used for augmenting solvent cleaning.
There is a classic paper by Brandreth & Johnson on removal of a
standardized particle (diamond dust) published in 1978 as I recall. Will
send you the exact reference later if you are interested-- let me know.
25-28 MHz was more typically used with aqueous systems until we got into
the more elaborate multi-frequency systems.
