(You are working late. A by product of the Nordic affinity for strong  coffee
perhaps ;-) ?

"Curious and curiouser", indeed. Was this a one lot of product effect  or is
it repeating?

If has been limited to one lot, has an attempt been made to recreate the
effect in some sort of designed experiment?

Obviously based on the scale, the length of these whiskers are not going to
be a threat equal to the threat of tin whiskers which can be more  than two
orders of magnitude greater in length.

Nothing like a good process problem to keep the process engineers mental
gears engaged.
