Graham,

Offset marking equipment, such as that made by Markem
http://www.markem.com/index.jsp can work well if you have the
serializer, however, like ink jet, lasers, etc., if you do not already
have the equipment, it will be at a cost....

Maybe when confronted with the cost to implement, they will allow a
label???

Steve

Subject: [TN] Epoxy ink serialization

Hi TechNet
I've got a very low tech question today.

We've got a customer who insists on serial numbers marked with epoxy
ink. They will not consider alternatives. We currently use a rubber
stamp with changeable numbers (rotating belt, like a date stamp) to
stamp the serial number. The issues with it are that it's a slow
process and that the repeatability is not great - it's very operator
dependent.

Are there any easier / faster / better methods that don't involve
spending a lot of $$?

Thanks!

 - Graham Collins
