IPA should work well.  It is used a media for ROSE testing and is rather
harmless to most electronics in general.  In that test they use a 75%
IPA & 25 % water.  I suspect that you could also blend the 2 as you see
fit.  Since water has a higher density it propagates the ultrasonic
forces better than the IPA. 

Hence the recommendation to use the IPA.

Subject: [TN] US Cleaning in IPA

We're currently ultrasonically cleaning some plastic parts in DI water
and may be incurring some microscopic damage to the surface.

We've been directed to use IPA rather than DI water as a cleaning medium
to give a gentler clean to reduce damage.

Does this sound like a good plan and would there be any other fluids
that would be more suitable?
