I only have the year end 2003 data at hand today. And, remember how the
Suppliers Council tracks this data - by the revenue from the chemistry - not by
the square feet of boards. So you have to use some multiplier or factor to
estimate square feet of boards, but this is not too bad as it leaves the
metals (gold) value out of ENIG.
Here were the percent of chemistry sold for finishes in the US in 2003:
HASL- 22.4% (I can't tell if this includes the metal added to the solder pot
- doubt it)
OSP – 34.3%
ENIG – 15.0% without metal content (gold)
Imm Sn – 7.1%
Imm Ag – 13.6%
Other metallics – 7.5%, presume this is electroplated nickel gold or
reflowed tin lead.
