I agree. We converted an AirVac and use SAC. The new nozzles are Ti and
there is no problem with solder sticking. It sounds like there may have
been some mechanical abrasion that is allowing the solder to stick, but not
wet. We run an Electrovert and regularly purchase and replace fingers. I
would try replacing some fingers with new ones and see if the problem
persists. Electrovert should be able to supply some or direct you to a
distributor.

fingers

Well, my simplistic view would be that it's either the solder or the
fingers. If there's nothing funny about the solder then are you sure the
fingers are really titanium? Do you have a CofC for the material they
were made from? Can you get a "genuine" piece of titanium and see if the
solder sticks to that. If it does then you'll be able to show Alpha
metals something that they've never seen before.
