Hello fellow netters,

I have a question concerning how people would go about obtaining an
Engineering Grandfather certificate or other. From what I understand the
person must have a certain amount of experience within the field; must be
able to pass the testing; may have to have a sponsor (not sure about this
one); and must be registered within the state that they are working in. The
objective here is to utilize the years of experience the person already has
to obtain a document stating she has the necessary knowledge to perform as
an Engineer. The problem is that she does not have the time or the finances
to get a traditional education. I recall back in the late 90's a friend of
mine in Arizona was able to get a suedo degree using some type of program,
but I can't quite remember all of the details. Does anyone know of such a
program or any such program that would utilize their professional
experience as an aide in obtaining a type of certification? Of course she
is not looking for one of those degree's that cost $500, and a week later
get a cert. in the mail stating you have a degree.
