Any chromel-alumel fine wire thermocouple with a cheapo instrument
attached will do the job. These thermocouples are good to ~±1½°C. The
precision of the instruments (digital) is usually ±1°C, ±1 significant
figure assuming they have reasonable cold end compensation.
