Hi Phil,

Since the release of IPC-7351 we've been using the naming convention in
the land pattern viewer (accessed by the help button).

For capacitors, aluminum electrolytic the format is: CAPAE + Base Body
Size X Height

The Panasonic EEVFK1V220R footprint would be CAPAE530X610.

Hope this helps,
Brian

Subject: [TN] SMT electrolytic foot print sizing

Good morning,

We are all familiar with 0603, 0804, 1825 sizing for SMT parts, but how
are aluminum electrolytic capacitors "sized". An example would be the
Panasonic EEVFK1V220R.

I'm attempting to standardize our part descriptions. A typical ceramic
SMT part would be CAP0603CER100NF100VX7R10%

Thanks in advance,

Phil Nutting
