Two mainly things need to be concerned about. One, the
oxides that can be prevented by removing moisture and air from the board
environment, two IMF whose growth is proportional to temperature. What
you suggested will help in reducing oxides. You could double bag them in
a thicker bag to prevent puncturing and place them in a Freezer in the
warehouse, based on the fact that at absolute zero there will be no
intermetalic formation. Though, it may not help them significantly. I do
know that people have stored boards like you suggested and had good
results.

Subject: [TN] Long Term PCB Assembly Storage

Dear Technetters,
What is the best way to store completed PCB assemblies for over 7 years.
These will be stored on a shelf in a warehouse (not temp controlled)
somewhere in a US southern state. I recommended them to be packaged in a
MBB with a desiccant pouch and sealed.

Are there any better methods for such a long term storage? And oh, BTW
It is a high rel application.

Regards,

Amol Kane
