Hello netters,

We just purchased two old CS400D models to be used to insert components as a secondary operation to the auto-insertion equipment. Basically if anything that can't be placed by AI, we want to use the CS400's to insert as much of the remaining as possible to eliminate manual insertion errors and other positives. Our Unicam has a module driver that is able to output a text file in the right format for the CS400's, but there's a problem. The text file output takes and changes some of the characters, which causes program errors and we can't determine why. The other problem is memory - we would like to get away from using the floppy disks for loading each program. So here are the questions:

- Is there a better and more efficient/ effective way to program these machines?
- Has anyone ever had this problem and if so, do you have a fix?
- Is there a way to increase the memory (small hard drive, MEM sticks, etc...) on these older units by adding a module of some sort.
- Does anyone have a programming tool that can be purchased or borrowed that can convert the unicam or CAD data into the text format required for the CS400 system?

Any - I mean any help would be useful at this point...

Thanks Yawl!
