Dear Selva,

There are several possibilities,
Likeness is, provided everything was done properly up to the assembly
point, that you have (in the order I would put it):

- Solder bridge somewhere on the board
- Dendrites growth
- CAF (Conductive Anodic Filaments) knowing you have 24V & 5V this is a
strong possibility as well.
- Component defect
- Functional error (Engineering)
- Short that has been created from the High Temp incursion (Barrel to
innerlayer,...)

But also, as in many cases, the CAD data and CAM data are not matching, as
PCB manufacturers have a tendency to solve issues without informing the
customer. Many CAD data are not clean enough for the PCB Manufacturer,
therefore, often it is cleaned up at the CAM level and errors can be
generated.

The IPC-A-356 suppose to be supplied from the CAD to the PCB Manufacturer
who suppose to use it for generating its Electrical Test.
Was it supplied?

I have a board with BBT passed , but after assembly 24v and 5 v are
getting shorted , what could be the reason .
this board is out of 6000 good boards!.
