It is interesting that "Extreme Simple Green" has passed testing at
Boeing and Pratt & Whitney.

I have heard favorable review from machine shops using simple green with
one caveat - Rust.

In addition to the performance information that Pam pointed out on
TURI's
lab testing website, note that many Simple Green products (including
Crystal Simple Green) include 2-butoxyethanol (also called Butyl
Cellosolve
or ethylene glycol monobutyl ether). There is some evidence of high
chronic exposures causing reproductive toxicity, although that evidence
is
not conclusive, and there are other health cautions.

It has a good environmental profile, so would be a good choice for boat
cleaning! It also may be considerably safer than what you are now using
to
remove mineral oils from parts.
Simple Green/Sunshine Makers, Inc. has good MSDS sheets that are readily
available on their web site.
