Frank,
I believe what you are referring to is JCP certification (go here:
http://www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/). We are a bareboard and assembly supplier,
and do have JCP certification. Since 9/11, organizations doing business
within the defense industry are more strictly enforcing the rules on
sensitive information, particularly in those cases which ITAR requirements
apply. We do not procure boards for programs which are ITAR controlled.
However, disclosure of ITAR related data is strictly enforced. You should
be able to find most of the specific information you're looking for at the
link referenced above. Bottom line: If we received ITAR controlled
information (prints, etc.) for an ITAR regulated job, It would be our
responsibility to ensure that the information is only disclosed to those
organizations authorized to receive such information regardless of their
connection with the company (supplier, customer, contractor, friend, etc.).

We recently had a customer ask us why we were not ITAR registered. We have
export control procedures and methods implemented, they communicated we
needed to be registered also.
We provide bare printed wiring boards.
To other board shops, are any of you registered?
For purchasers of bare printed wiring boards, do you require suppliers to
be
registered? If so, which section of the regulation outlines this
requirement?
Thanks,
Franklin D Asbell
