One thing I take a bit of umbrage to in the article is the notion that
accommodating lead-free is an act of innovation. It it not innovation. It is
unnecessary "busy work" to solve a non existent problem.

Lead-free has actually set real innovation back several years as  countless
talented engineers and scientists have been taken off that job to work  on
lead-free soldering.

This is not to say that some most excellent engineering has been not been
done. I applaud the efforts of the thousands of talented folks around the
globe, (such as all of those here) who have been slugging away at the  challenge..

It simply was not necessary and it is not going to make the world  better or
safer. Sadly, it appears that the opposite may well be in  store.

Just my opinion...

Keep up your excellent work shining the light on the truth.
