If your drawing doesn't require the assembly to meet IPC-A-610 and has no
specific bow and twist (warpage) requirement or dimensioning scheme to
define what is acceptable, then it can be whatever it ends up being and you
just have to live with it.

If you know what you have to have to work and it is tighter than what is
specified within IPC-A-610, you can specify it in your documentation and it
must be met. But it might cost you extra.

If you aren't sure what you need but want to nail it down so that the
mechanical guys have a way to allow for worst case and still get everything
put together, a safe way to go is to reference IPC-A-610, since assemblers
should already have experience meeting the criteria within.

Best Regards,
-Chris

=========================
All,

We have a design that sits in a mechanical
housing that has crevices and milled out areas. Due
to this the standoffs are different heights and sizes.
There are of course mechanical tolerances with these.

My question is what is the IPC standard for pcb warpage
tolerances. My assembly department is telling me that
we don't meet these standards yet can't define what they
are.

All help is appreciated.
