The EDIF translator in DxDesigner does not work well. For what you get out of the translator, it would take much time and adjustments. I talked to an Apps engineer at Mentor and even he does not like the EDIF translator.

Currently, we are redrawing the files in DxDesigner to match the schematic in OrCAD. the only other explanation it to buy an expensive converter.

Sorry, that's all I know.

Chris

Hi Mario,

I believe there is a free ViewDraw (DxDesigner) reader available on the
OrCad(Cadence) website. Also, if your client has the EDIF export option
for DxDesigner, you could ask to have them export to EDIF and then you
could import into OrCad that way. In either case you most likely will
have to manipulate the attributes a bit and for the EDIF method you will
need to delete the sheet borders at the very least.

Regards,
Brent

Subject: [DC] DxD -> OrCad

Greetings council members,

I have a client who uses DxDesigner, I do not. I would like to be able
to get DxD sch's into OrCad Capture. Does anyone know of a methodology,
besides some expensive translator or 3rd party services, to accomplish
this? If so, please share your ideas.

Thanks,

Mario Irigoyen
