Joyce, it depends whether you should believe everything you hear from
Doug. Not sure what it depends on, but I just had to slide that in.

www.ipc.org/onlinestore and do a quicksearch (upper left corner) on 790.
You'll see that you can still order this 24 year old document in either
print or electronic format.

"Provides information on multichip module technology, including
parametric data, design and manufacturing information and a proposed
categorization of various approaches to multichip interconnect substrate
technologies based on dielectric family. 120 pages. Released August
1992."

There's also a link to download the Table of Contents & first page to
get more info about content.

ISHM and JEDEC have both done work on docs for mutlichip modules and
hybrids but IPC hasn't had a committee interested in this kind of
document for quite a few years.

Jack Crawford had it out on the table last week and spilled coffee all
over it. Last known copy too. Truly a tragedy.

More to the point, I have no idea if there is an upgrade. I do know it
is still offered in the IPC catalog and I have a PDF version.

HI, standard gurus, does anyone know what happen to IPC-MC-790? Does it
intergrated to any of the later specs? Thanks.
Best regards,
                              jk (lost track... getting old)
