On the other hand Werner, a laminate supplier is not going to stock 100
flavors of resin when 10 will do. If I want a Tg of 175, I can probably
get it. If I want one of 170 Tg, I am going to get 175. If I want 178, I
will get 175. Tightening up the slash sheets can be done, but it is not
going to effect the economics of the situation. If I want something
different than what most others are using, I am going to pay dearly to get
it.

Hi Dewey,
I did not blame Doug, not do I you for that matter.
I know all of that is difficult, and many different approaches are
sugested.
The BIG PROBLEM, of course is that Juli 1 is almost upon us.
People already have problems and the slash sheets are so broad that they
cannot be used for specifying PCBs. Also, once you set the slash sheets,
they are
essentially cast in concrete. So why not take the new slash sheets and
tighten
up the property ranges by spreading each of them over 4 or 5 slash sheets.
Because of the slash sheet property ranges, I have developed a multi-client
study that recommends PCB FAB Notes that specify all aspect of PCBs that
impact
survivability of the LF-process and reliability, including the resin
properties.
