Hello TechNet
I'm looking at buying onsite nitrogen generation capability, and for
our two machines (wave and reflow oven) it looks like I need about 1300
SCFH capacity. My concern is that our reflow oven is both old, and 4
zone, so it may need to be replaced in the next few years. (we are
lead-free exempt but may have to make the change at some point in the
next few years - hence I'd want a bigger oven)

Our oven currently uses about 1200 SCFH of nitrogen. It is, as
mentioned, old - and I assume that oven design has improved so a new
oven will use less nitrogen compared to an old oven of the same size.
As well, I'm guessing that going from a 4 zone to an 8 zone oven does
not mean I should just multiply the nitrogen consumption by 2.

So, after a huge preamble, my question is this: does anyone have a half
decently accurate estimate of what a modern 8 zone oven requires for
nitrogen consumption?

Thanks!
