Joe,

Your input and feedback is always appreciated.  I know where you stand on
this tin issue.  I read back through Joyce's post and related link and the
first thing that came to mind is an electronic component that develops
whiskers, say on a vehicle carrying lots of people like an airliner, train
etc.  The component fails and possibly an important control component fails
to function as a result of it, like flaps or brakes or a navigation system.

I assume redundant equipment components are supposed take over and disaster
is averted.  But then that equipment has to come out of service to fix it.
I realize this is only one of many possible scenarios but is this one of
your arguments against the folly of RoHS today?
