Hi Kevin:
I have not taken an ionic contamination testers filters
apart, but it is my understanding that a mix bed of positive and
negative ionic charged resin beads in the filter are used to trap free
flowing contaminants and make the liquid clean. Those beads can trap
particles and not liquids. Water can be purified up to about 18 M ohms,
Alcohol and DI water can reach much higher resistance than that. The
higher the resistivity the smaller quantity of contaminants that can be
detected. Take over Brian......
Regards,
Ramon

Subject: [TN] Ionic Tester filter media ?
Can anyone tell me what is in the cartridges of the ionic testers that
removes contaminants? Why does it not also remove the alcohol and just
make plain DI?
