Hi Berry,

In some cases it refers to the practice of nasty curs who make  off with gold
scrap and other valuables late at night... ;-)

But I believe that you are asking about non functional areas of the circuit
that are patterned to even out current distribution so that plating is more
uniform, a fairly common practice.
