Really!? To tell you the truth I had no idea this would be the cause, I was more focused, as I said, on the flux residue! How did you realize it was the solder mask?

I bet it comes from the solder mask.  I use Photo Coverlay on our flexes
and get white fungus like stuff in the exhaust duct and around the door of
my cure oven.

The good news is an industrial hygienist checked it out and found nothing
dangerous.

[TN] White Residue in the oven






Hi Technetters,
I have a white residue coating all over my reflow oven innards (almost
looks like white fungus). How can I absolutely be certain that it's flux
and not anything else?are there any tests available for this? I am
planning to check the oven exhaust for correct air flow rates.....anything
else I should be looking out for?. We are using a water soluble halide
free flux and SnPb solder
