I have seen failures in hand soldering of no-clean flux.  I doubt this
is your problem however.


I have worked with inverter designs.  Although the nominal voltage is
500 Vrms, the startup voltage can be as high as 1500 rms.  Per IPC
electrical clearance for an uncoated electrical conductor for use below
10,00 feet, 500 Vrms requires 140 mil clearance, 1500 Vrms requires over
400 mils clearance.  This is a MUCH likelier cause of failure

We have a customer that has a portion of a circuit which randomly fails.
The circuit is a backlight driver (500volt 6mA). The output caps are
0.100 spacing of the terminals.  The process used is No-clean.  Can the
No-clean contribute to failures of the circuit (ie promote arching or
current leakage across the body of the output caps). ???
