This is an excellent website, John. You have my respect that you would
go to that much work in striving for your ideals.
But I would not take the view that RoHS cannot be stopped.
It is sort of ironic, though, that the reason it would continue to be
defended is because a group of politicians do not want to admit that
they did not know what they were proposing, they did not do their
homework (no due diligence here!), they did it only because it was
politically expedient, and they did not really do it for the benefit of
the environment.

They did it only for political and monetary gain.

And we all suffer for it, including the very environment they were
supposedly trying to "protect".

Thanks Ramon,

As the web site says - my view is that it cannot be stopped. BUT in the
event that there are issues either technical or environmental, the need
for a forum with support on the subject will short circuit a lot of
"dithering" should the time come to "Pushback" on the current
legislation.

I am very glad that you have that website. It will be a good
platform for many to share their experiences with the rest of the
country and other countries about how dumb the RoHS laws are. Even for
those of us that do not have to use LF solder, we have to contend with
Tin whiskers and BGA, SAC solder balls that do not fully flow with SnPb
solder.
        Great Idea John

Yes it is my web site,

I put it up yesterday in conjunction with input from a peer group from
the lead free forum.

I would urge anyone on this forum that has doubts about the underlying
foundation for the need to remove lead from solders to go "take a look"
and see what you think.

And if you do agree with it, spread the existence of that site link
widely within your circle of aquaintances.

Kind regards,

John Burke
