If you are gluing then you know that gold is a low energy surface to bond to
and different types of gold can affect adhesion of epoxies, surface
roughness and brightening chemistries have effects and so on.
IF you are soldering then you need to tell us alloy type, thickness of
plating and basis substrate finish under Au and same for die. [Plating thick
etc does not matter for epoxies as adhesive boding is a surface effect,
there is no dissolution into adhesive.]

Got a question for you die attach gurus. We are currently using boards with
electroless gold finish. We have a supplier that has sent in boards with
electro-plated gold and we are seeing our die shear's going down. I would
expect to see some decrease in die shears but we are seeing in some cases
50% reduction. Any body out there doing both types of gold finishes and if
so are your parameters and things like flux the same for both?
